If only this, then I would do that.

becomes the diagnosis of my situation

my scapegoat from my inaction.

absolves me in my mind.

In my soul I know the true nature of "if only"

But I close the door to my soul

Disconnect from it

and walk away from my dreams 

that sit waiting

arms.
